Documents named Official Certificate were issued in Princedom and Kingdom of Montenegro (equivalent to modern Certification of Citizenship). Among other personal data (birthday, birthplace, parents) were columns for ethnicity and faith as well as citizenship. In this document issued to Duke Stevo Vukotic it is noticed that he was a Serb by ethnicity, Orthodox Christian by religion and Montenegrin by citizenship.
