Montenegrin Emigrants in America

The first Slavic emigrant society in America was established in 1857 by emigrants from Gulf of Kotor and Dalmatia. On the end of XIX century, Montenegrin emigrants established a few Serb Montenegrin charitable organizations in the United States of America. The first established, in 1880, was The Serb Montenegrin Charitable Organization. The names of the other organizations were Vladika Danilo, Monastery of Ostrog, Prince Danilo, Fiery Sword, etc. and all with own constitutions, rules, statutes and documents. Montenegrins were also gathered in the alliance called THE SERB MONTENEGRIN ALLIANCE in the United States of America. The official organ of the alliance was - THE SERB PATRIOT.

Прво словенско исељеничко друштво у Америци основали су Бокељи и Далматинци 1857. године. Крајем XIX вијека, исељеници из Црне Горе основали су неколико српских црногорских добротворних друштава у САД. Првоосновано се звало Српско црногорско добротворно друштво. Имена осталих друштава била су: Владика Данило, Манастир Острог, Књаз Данило, Мач Пламени итд. Сва друштва су имала своје Уставе, законе, правила и документа. Црногорци су били окупљени и у савез назива СРПСКИ ЦРНОГОРСКИ САВЕЗ у Америци. Орган овог савеза је био СРПСКИ РОДОЉУБ. (Encoding Cyrillic - 1251)
